From 'M' reg, V.W has had a chip transponder key system that is held in the plastic head of the key and is coded to the vehicles engine management system.
Each time the ignition is turned on, the engine management system checks the chip in the key to see if it is one that has been programmed to that vehicle, if it is the immobiliser is switched off and the car can be started, if not the car stays immobilised.
V.W require a 4 digit security code to allow new transponder keys to be programmed which from 2002 they no longer give out to customers, forcing you to take your car to a main dealer
However we can access, cut and program new keys to your V.W from the roadside saving you both time and money. Plus we can erase any old keys from the system that have been lost so if anyone finds them and trys to start your car with them, they wont work.
